Job Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating daily production operations to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. The role manages production teams, optimizes processes, controls costs, and ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations Management
  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure smooth, efficient, and continuous operations.
  • Plan and execute production schedules based on customer demand and business requirements.
  • Ensure production output meets quantity, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Identify bottlenecks and improve workflow, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Production Planning and Scheduling
  • Coordinate with planning, sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to meet production requirements.
  • Prepare manpower, material, and equipment requirements for production activities.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Adjust production plans based on urgent requirements, material availability, or operational issues.
Quality Control and Process Improvement
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team to address quality issues.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and production delays.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other productivity improvement programs.
Team Leadership and Supervision
  • Manage, train, and develop production supervisors, operators, and production staff.
  • Assign work schedules and monitor employee performance.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, safety awareness, and accountability.
  • Conduct coaching, performance reviews, and skills development programs.
  • Ensure adequate manpower allocation to meet production requirements.
Equipment and Maintenance Coordination
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure production equipment operates efficiently.
  • Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and equipment improvement projects.
  • Ensure proper use and care of production tools, machines, and facilities.
Material and Cost Management
  • Monitor raw material usage and minimize material wastage.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
  • Control production costs through efficient manpower, material, and equipment utilization.
  • Analyze production variances and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and company safety policies.
  • Promote a safe working environment and enforce proper PPE usage.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address workplace hazards.
  • Ensure production processes comply with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring
  • Prepare and submit production reports, including output, efficiency, downtime, and quality performance.
  • Monitor production KPIs such as:
  • Production output achievement
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Productivity rate
  • Yield and rejection rate
  • Machine downtime
  • Labor efficiency
  • Production cost per unit
  • On-time completion rate
  • Recommend improvements to enhance operational performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production operations, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Experience in manufacturing, assembly, food processing, consumer goods, or related industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and operational management.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement programs is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of Philippine labor regulations and workplace safety standards.
