Online English Tutor (Grades 1–5) — US Students (1:1)
Ruvimo is a fast-growing online 1:1 tutoring company supporting K–12 students across the United States. We work with families to provide high-quality, consistent tutoring—helping learners build confidence, skills, and academic success.
Role Overview:
We’re hiring English Tutors for Grades 1–5 who can teach foundational literacy skills in a fun, patient, and structured way. This role focuses on early learning—including reading, phonics, vocabulary, writing, spelling, grammar, and comprehension.
You will work with students 1-on-1 online, tailoring lessons to each child’s learning pace and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver live 1:1 online English tutoring sessions for grades 1–5
- Teach and strengthen key skills:
- Phonics and decoding
- Reading fluency and comprehension
- Vocabulary building
- Spelling and sentence formation
- Grammar basics (punctuation, parts of speech)
- Writing skills (paragraphs, creative writing, prompts)
- Support homework and school assignments (US curriculum aligned)
- Build student confidence, reading habits, and communication skills
- Use interactive teaching methods (stories, activities, games, visuals)
- Track learning progress and share updates with the Ruvimo team (and parents where needed)
- Ensure a warm, safe, child-friendly learning environment
Requirements:
Strong English communication (spoken + written)- Experience teaching/tutoring young learners (Grades 1–5 preferred)
- Knowledge of early literacy strategies (phonics-based reading is a big plus)
- Patient, energetic, and encouraging teaching style
- Comfortable using online platforms (Zoom/Google Meet, whiteboard tools, screen share)
- Reliable laptop/computer + stable internet connection
- Professional attitude and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in English, Education, Primary Teaching, or related field
- Experience with US curriculum / Common Core standards
- ESL teaching experience (some students may need additional language support)
- Work from anywhere with flexible hours
- Teach motivated US students in a supportive 1:1 model
- Long-term tutoring opportunities with consistent student assignments
