Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support MedTech R&D, working on both New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This role offers hands‑on involvement in designing and developing innovative medical device components used by global MedTech leaders and fast‑growing startups.

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and fixtures using PTC Creo
• Develop new products and complete design packages based on customer inputs
• Optimize designs through collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and cross‑functional engineering teams
• Create and release drawings; support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Generate reports related to testing, metrology, simulations, and analysis
• Ensure design compliance with ISO 13485 and applicable MedTech standards
• Define requirements through customer input and reverse engineering of legacy products
• Develop test processes, coordinate measurements, and manage engineering data
• Perform tolerance analysis and tolerance stack‑up
• Collaborate with global teams across manufacturing, metrology, quality, customers, and suppliers

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years experience in medical device design, manufacturing, or process engineering
• Strong mechanical design experience using PTC Creo
• Experience in miniature part and assembly design and fixture design
• Strong drafting skills with practical application of GD&T
• Proficiency in tolerance stack‑up analysis
• Experience with 2D/3D metrology (X‑ray, OGP, CT scanning)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including:
• Metal stamping, injection molding, machining
• Plastics, metals, adhesives, plating
• Laser welding/cutting, MIM, and automation (preferred)
• Strong analytical capability including statistical analysis and advanced Excel
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working on Class II or Class III medical devices
• Familiarity with FDA, ISO 13485, and EU MDR
• Experience with PLM systems (Oracle, Agile, Windchill, or similar)
