Job Summary:
We are seeking a competent and results-driven Procurement Supervisor with a strong background in vessel operations to oversee and manage procurement activities supporting our maritime operations. The successful candidate will lead the procurement team, ensure the efficient sourcing of goods and services, and uphold compliance with company policies and maritime industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee daily procurement operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all purchasing activities
- Plan, prioritize, and allocate procurement requirements for vessels, including spare parts, consumables, and technical services
- Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with company policies and budgetary controls
- Lead supplier sourcing, accreditation, and performance evaluation initiatives
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with local and international suppliers
- Coordinate closely with vessel crews, technical superintendents, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate procurement support
- Monitor procurement schedules and resolve delays, discrepancies, or supply chain issues
- Maintain and improve procurement systems, records, and reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, quality standards, and company procedures
- Mentor and guide procurement staff to enhance performance and professional development
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement, with at least two 1 year in a supervisory capacity within the maritime or shipping industry
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations, marine spare parts, and procurement best practices
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in ship management or offshore operations
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations and classification society requirements
- Exposure to global sourcing and logistics coordination
