Electrical Engineer – EV Charging Infrastructure
Job Summary
We are looking for a licensed Electrical Engineer to support the design, installation, and operation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across the Philippines. The role ensures compliance with local codes, coordinates with utilities, and supports end-to-end project delivery—from site assessment to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for EV charging stations (AC Level 2 and DC fast charging)
- Prepare electrical plans, single-line diagrams, load schedules, and technical specifications
- Perform load calculations and coordinate transformer and panel sizing
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and relevant safety standards
- Process permits and coordinate approvals with LGUs and agencies such as Department of Energy (DOE)
- Liaise with distribution utilities (e.g., Meralco or local electric cooperatives) for service applications and interconnection
- Conduct site inspections, supervise installation, and support testing & commissioning
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure proper grounding, protection, and system reliability
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
- Prepare as-built drawings, documentation, and turnover reports
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) or Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) licensed by Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
- At least 1–3 years of relevant experience (power systems, construction, or renewable energy projects)
- Experience in EV charging, solar PV, or power distribution is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and local permitting processes
- Experience in electrical design tools (AutoCAD, ETAP, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with:
- EV charging standards (Type 2, CCS2)
- Low- and medium-voltage systems
- Transformers, switchgear, panel boards, and protection systems
- Understanding of utility coordination and load application processes
- Knowledge of OCPP and smart charging systems is a plus
- Strong coordination and project management skills
- Good communication skills for dealing with utilities, LGUs, and contractors
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
- Office-based design work with frequent site visits across project locations
- May require travel within Metro Manila and provincial areas
- Experience with solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Background in energy efficiency or sustainability projects
