Purchasing Assistant

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency.
• Maintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities.
• Sign and review purchasing agreements with vendors, monitor their performance and renegotiate contracts.
• Manage purchase orders, oversee local and international shipping schedules and maintain purchase records.
• Coordinate with origin/shipper, broker and forwarder to process and/or follow up importation documents.
• Work with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies.
• Conduct ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management or relevant field.
• At least 2 years of working experience as Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Highly proficient in the use of MS application.
• Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills.
• Good time management abilities.
