Furniture repair and restoration:
Assess damaged furniture, remove old fabric and padding, repair or replace worn-out components like springs and frames, and re-upholster with new materials.
Fabric selection and cutting:
Consult with clients to choose suitable fabrics and patterns, accurately measure furniture pieces, and precisely cut fabric to fit.
Padding installation:

Install various types of padding on furniture frames, including foam, cotton batting, and webbing, to achieve the desired level of comfort.

Upholstery techniques: Utilize hand stitching, staple guns, and other upholstery tools to securely attach fabric to furniture frames.
Custom upholstery creation: Build and upholster custom furniture pieces like cushions, pillows, and headboards according to client specifications.

Cleaning and maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace, properly store materials, and clean finished furniture pieces.

Qualifications/Requirements

Manual dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to work with precise measurements.
Technical knowledge: Understanding of different upholstery materials, construction techniques, and tools.
Attention to detail: Ability to carefully execute tasks with high precision to achieve a quality finish.
Customer service skills: Effectively communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
Physical stamina: Ability to lift and maneuver heavy furniture pieces.
