Operations Assistant – Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) System

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Soil and Field Analysis
  • Conduct soil sampling and testing (pH, texture, fertility, organic matter, and other relevant parameters).
  • Monitor soil moisture levels and provide recommendations for proper AWD scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate soil analysis records and ensure timely reporting.
  1. Field Operations Support
  • Assist in setting up, monitoring, and maintaining AWD field demonstration sites.
  • Support installation and monitoring of water tubes, sensors, or related AWD tools.
  • Record and track field data including water usage, crop growth, and yield performance.
  1. Training and Capacity Building
  • Assist in farmer orientation, training sessions, and field demonstrations.
  • Provide basic technical advice to farmers regarding soil and water management.
  • Help prepare IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials for stakeholders.
  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain field logs, soil test results, and monitoring forms.
  • Prepare summary reports for submission to the Project Coordinator.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, technical notes, and project updates.
  1. Coordination and Support
  • Work with local government units, DENR, and other partner agencies in AWD-related activities.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, trainings, and site visits.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned to ensure smooth project implementation.
