Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, inspect, and test printed circuit boards used in elevator and escalator control systems.
- Perform routine SMT soldering and desoldering of fine pitch electronic components on PCBs using microscopes and precision tools.
- Inspect PCB electronic assemblies for defects including solder quality, parts alignment, missing parts, and visual damage.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty PCBs; identify defective components and perform rework or replacement as needed.
- Conduct functional testing using instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and test jigs to verify board performance.
- Repair and restore circuit boards and electronic control systems to full operational function.
- Set up and operate PCB assembly equipment including pick-and-place machines, solder paste stencil printers, and reflow ovens.
- Perform incoming inspection and testing of circuit boards received from or assembled by outside suppliers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test results, defect reports, repair logs, and corrective actions taken.
- Manage inventory and replenishment of laboratory and workshop supplies.
- Ensure laboratory and workshop readiness to support all product development and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and service teams to identify recurring PCB issues and recommend process improvements.
- Adhere to COPI's safety, quality, and ethics standards, including IPC certification guidelines and EHS protocols.
- Graduate of Electronics Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field (Diploma / Associate's Degree / TESDA-accredited program)
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a PCB Technician, Electronics Technician, or similar role
- Experience working alongside engineers in an electronics lab or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in SMT and through-hole soldering techniques
- Experience with fine-pitch soldering under microscope is an advantage
- IPC-610 certification or equivalent preferred
- Familiarity with PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, Proteus) is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
- Proficiency in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers
- Strong attention to detail with good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and service teams
