Healthcare Collections (Self-Pay) | BPO Experience

Access Healthcare is current looking for Healthcare Collections Specialist with experience in Patient Self-Pay accounts.

This role is responsible for managing outbound and inbound calls, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances directly from patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare billing and insurance coordination, and must be able to communicate with patients in a respectful, empathetic, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a high volume of outgoing and incoming calls regarding patient balances.
• Review patient accounts to determine outstanding balances, insurance payments, and patient responsibility.
• Educate patients on their balance, payment options, and financial assistance programs.
• Set up and monitor payment arrangements in compliance with company policies.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all communications and payment arrangements.
• Resolve billing inquiries and disputes in a timely and courteous manner.
• Work collaboratively with internal billing and insurance departments to reconcile accounts.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in patient collections, medical billing with a focus on self-pay accounts.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing practices.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Experience using electronic health records or practice management systems
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
