Product Development Officer
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Development Officer to handle product concepts to launch including formulation, raw material evaluation, documentation, and coordination with regulatory, QA, QC, purchasing, and production teams.
The ideal candidate will take ownership on the development, reformulation, improvement, and commercialization of food supplement products in compliance with Philippine FDA regulations, customer requirements, and GMP standards.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Product Innovation- Generate new supplement ideas based on market trends and consumer needs.
- Convert ideas into feasible formulas.
- Monitor competitors and track claims, new launches and pricepoints.
- Source and evaluate new emerging ingredients. Review scientific evidence, safety, cost, and Philippine FDA acceptability.
- Work with the packaging team for premium appearance with marketable and compliant claims.
- Create formulations based on active ingredients, target claims, dosage, stability, and cost targets.
- Evaluate compatibility of vitamins, minerals, botanicals, amino acids, probiotics, enzymes, and excipients.
- Reformulate existing products for cost improvement, supply changes, or performance enhancement.
- Prepare technical documentation for product registration, including:
- Product formulation
- Ingredient justification
- Technical specifications
- Finished product specs
- Manufacturing process flow
- Label claims support
- Support FDA product registrations
- Ensure formulations comply with Philippine FDA rules and ASEAN supplement guidelines.
- Adhere to GMP standards and label claim regulations.
- Coordinate with QA/QC on deviations and CAPA involving products.
- Manage development timelines from concept to launch.
- Coordinate with Sales/Marketing for market-driven products.
- Graduate of BS Food Technology, Pharmacy, Chemistry or any related field
- 2-3 years experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements
- Willing to work on-site
