Job description:

Scope of Responsibilities:
  1. General Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Perform end-to-end bookkeeping from recording of transactions to preparation of financial reports
  • Maintain accurate general ledger, journals, and subsidiary ledgers
  • Ensure proper classification of accounts in accordance with PFRS
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial schedules
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
  1. Inventory Accounting & Monitoring (Trading Business Focus)
  • Monitor inventory movement (purchases, sales, returns, adjustments)
  • Reconcile inventory records vs. physical counts and investigate variances
  • Ensure correct costing of inventory (e.g., FIFO or weighted average, as applicable)
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations on stock issues
  • Record inventory write-offs, slow-moving, and obsolete items, when applicable
  1. Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Record sales invoices and official receipts
  • Monitor customer balances, aging, and collections
  • Prepare AR reconciliation and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Coordinate with sales and collection teams on discrepancies
  1. Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Process supplier invoices, debit/credit memos, and payment requests
  • Validate supporting documents and ensure proper approvals
  • Prepare payment schedules and monitor due dates
  • Record and reconcile AP balances
  1. Bank & Cash Reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
  • Monitor cash movements and identify reconciling items
  • Coordinate with management on discrepancies
  1. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance (Philippines)
  • Compute and prepare VAT returns (2550M / 2550Q)
  • Compute and file Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT – 0619E / 1601EQ)
  • Assist in preparation of Annual Income Tax Return (1701 / 1702)
  • Prepare SLSP / RELIEF and other BIR reports, as applicable
  • Maintain tax schedules and ensure timely submission and payment
  • Assist during BIR audits, assessments, and tax mapping
  1. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare management reports such as:
  • Inventory summaries
  • AR/AP aging
  • Tax schedules
  • Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documents
  • Assist in internal and external audits
  1. Other Duties
  • Assist in process improvements and internal control implementation
  • Support management in financial analysis and ad-hoc accounting tasks
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as may be assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
  1. Years of experience
  • At least 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in GL/bookkeeping roles
  1. Competency requirements
  • Experience in handling affiliate/sister company books is an advantage.
  • Experience in Accounting software such as QuickBooks.
