We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer. This role will be based in our Philippines office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Health & Benefits Consultant, you will play a crucial role in leading business growth through the delivery of MMB’s workforce health solutions, directly impacting the team's outcomes.

We will count on you to:

Medical Advice for High Loss Ratio and Claims Utilization:

  • Provide expert medical advice tailored to clients experiencing high loss ratios and claims utilization.
  • Collaborate closely with the Analytics team to review and analyze claims data, identifying trends and developing strategies to mitigate costs.
  • Collaborate closely with Broking and Sales teams for existing and new clients to recommend the best health advisory and strategies that will result in sustainable medical costs.
  • Works closely with Regional Advisory Leader to ensure alignment of company’s direction for Consulting services.

Onsite Clinic Management Knowledge:

  • Assess and review the operations of onsite clinics established by clients, ensuring they deliver effective medical services.
  • Evaluate the scope of work for nurses and doctors within the clinic, providing recommendations for optimizing staffing and service delivery.
  • Ensure that the onsite clinic meets the healthcare needs of the client’s workforce, with a focus on preventive care and occupational health.

Client Engagement and Communication:

  • Serve as an advisor for clients regarding onsite clinic operations and medical services.
  • Effectively communicate clinical recommendations and strategies to clients, focusing on reducing medical costs and claims utilization.
  • Include the medical doctor in client meetings when discussions pertain to medical cases, different illnesses, and strategies to mitigate the medical costs of the company.
  • Provide training and support to clients ensuring they understand best practices in patient care and clinic management.

Advisory Services:

  • Offer comprehensive advisory services based on the review of clinic operations and claims data.
  • Provide actionable insights to clients on enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of their onsite clinics.

Training and Support:

  • Facilitate workshops or seminars to educate clients on the benefits of onsite clinics and effective health management strategies.

What you need to have:

  • Doctor of Medicine with relevant advanced certifications in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
  • Proven corporate experience in benefits consulting, project management, business development, and account management.
  • Strong understanding of the life and health insurance industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to clients and team members.
