Product Research & Development Specialist

This includes managing product registration and verifying that standards, such as FDA compliance, are met before product launches. You will also manage documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all legal aspects are addressed prior to production, ensuring the creation of successful and innovative cosmetic products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Concept Development: Refine product concepts with the Research and Development Team, guided by customer feedback and past performance.
• Market Research: Identify industry trends, target demographics, and competitive gaps to inform product development and positioning.
• Formulation Collaboration: Work with R&D Department and manufacturers to develop and test formulations; oversee prototype evaluation for performance and stability.
• Packaging Design: Collaborate with the R&D team to ensure packaging designs are functional, compliant with regulatory requirements, and align with brand identity.
• Prototyping and Testing: Develop and test prototypes to assess functionality, sensory attributes, and product integrity; conduct stability testing.
• Production Oversight: Ensure all product details are verified before mass production, particularly formulas, ingredient lists, compliance with legal standards, and packaging.
• Compliance and Registration: Manage the paperwork and documentation for product registration, focusing on ensuring that products meet all legal and regulatory requirements, such as FDA standards, prior to launch. Oversee the registration process for all products.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the whole marketing team and manufacturing teams to ensure the smooth development and launch of products, with a focus on regulatory approval.
• Product Launch and Evaluation: Support product launches, ensuring that all legal checks are in place. Monitor post-launch performance and address any compliance or legal issues that arise.
• Company Events: Attend company meetings, events, trips, and training sessions as required, including workshops on FDA compliance and other regulatory standards.
• Other Duties: Perform any additional duties as required or that may arise in the future.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Proven experience in cosmetic product development, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and product registration.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation processes, and industry regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in verifying information from product designers before mass production, particularly regarding formulas, ingredient lists, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Strong expertise in managing documentation and paperwork, with a focus on product registration and meeting regulatory requirements.
• Well-versed in FDA compliance and regulatory protocols, with the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks efficiently.
• Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple products and timelines while ensuring adherence to regulatory processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, facilitating seamless teamwork across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
