Job Summary
The Finance Director will lead the financial management and commercial strategy of the business, partnering closely with sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to maximize profitability, optimize costs, and improve operational efficiency.This is a critical leadership role requiring both strategic foresight and hands-on operational management in a fast-paced consumer market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute financial strategies to drive growth, improve margins, and optimize working capital in a consumer-focused environment.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, with deep insights into sales performance, product profitability, and supply chain costs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure strong financial governance and business partnering.
- Partner with commercial teams to analyze pricing strategies, trade promotions, and customer profitability.
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, tax, and regulatory standards.
- Support demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain efficiency initiatives through robust financial analysis.
- Deliver clear and actionable financial insights to the executive team to guide business decisions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including FX exposure, commodity pricing, and customer credit risk.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (required). CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or MBA (preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the consumer goods, retail, or FMCG sector.
- Strong commercial finance experience, particularly in supporting sales, marketing, and supply chain functions.
- Advanced understanding of trade spend, promotions, margin management, and customer/channel profitability.
- Proficiency in ERP and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
