The Vendor Manager is responsible for building, managing, and sustaining a strong vendor network that supports transportation and logistics operations. This role ensures vendor compliance, performance excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across the supply chain, contributing directly to operational efficiency and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Development & Onboarding
  • Build and maintain a robust pool of transporters, subcontractors, and logistics vendors to support diverse customer requirements.
  • Lead vendor onboarding processes, ensuring readiness, compliance, and capability alignment.
Vendor Performance Management
  • Develop, implement, and administer KPI-driven performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with vendors to ensure service quality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Escalation & Issue Resolution
  • Act as the primary escalation point for vendor-related disputes involving operations, service delivery, contracts, or commercial terms.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Perform risk assessments on trucking and transport support to mitigate operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, contractual obligations, and local transport laws.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and third-party suppliers to drive operational alignment and efficiency.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving vendor performance and supply chain outcomes.
Retention & Continuous Improvement
  • Design and manage vendor retention, rewards, and penalty programs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance vendor processes, governance, and overall supply chain performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years solid background in Supply Chain and/or Logistics (transportation, vendor management, logistics procurement, or related fields) – this is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Proven experience managing third-party vendors within a logistics or transport environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in logistics procurement and contract management.
  • Hands-on exposure to KPI development, vendor audits, and performance governance.

  • Strong negotiation, contract preparation, and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid understanding of local transport regulations and logistics models in the Philippines.
