Role Summary for Accounting Specialist
We are looking for experienced Accounting/Bookkeeping Specialists to join our remote team and support our client in the US. The ideal candidates must have a strong background in accounting or bookkeeping, with a focus on data entry, invoice entry/accounts payable (AP), credit card and expense entries, and coding of transactions.While familiarity with US GAAP is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement, as the positions are geared towards data entry level tasks with a pathway for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate data entry related to accounting and financial transactions.
- Manage invoice entries and accounts payable tasks efficiently.
- Handle credit card reconciliations and expense entry processes.
- Code financial transactions accurately to ensure proper record keeping.
- Collaborate with the team to support accounting operations and month-end closing processes.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and company procedures.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with direct exposure to US firms.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools commonly used by US businesses (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
- Ability to work independently and in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- College degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required.
Additional Skills and Qualities:
- Familiarity with US GAAP is a plus but not mandatory.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Advanced spreadsheet (Excel) skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Willing to work graveyard shifts, Hawaii time zone, or on an assigned, variable schedule.
