Job Description

As an Accounting and Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll for seasonal employees, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements, maintaining compliance, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, and collaborating with cross-functional teams during peak periods to optimize HRIS systems.

• Must have familiarity with Rippling (or comparable HRIS system)
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience onboarding employees into a payroll system and processing weekly payroll of close to 1,000 seasonal employees
• Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Comfortable communicating by phone and e-mail to candidates and existing employees to complete the onboarding process
• Thorough understanding of legally required and best practices for onboarding new employees
• Ability to work extended hours during the summer peak period
• Ability to demonstrate an owner's attitude towards candidate and employee issues
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with varying deadlines
• Ability to work independently and in group settings
• Adherence to confidentiality
• Experience working with remote or cross-border teams is highly desirable
• Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate US time zones

• Ensure all seasonal employees are onboarded correctly and are ready to be paid prior to summer payroll
• Process summer payroll timely and correctly on a weekly basis
• Communicate with the operations team leading up to, during, and after peak season for efficient utilization of Rippling system
• Own the i-9 process for seasonal and full-time employees
• Help maintain payroll and finance inboxes for seasonal payroll and finance purposes
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Recommend cross-functional solutions for optimization of systems
• Assist with audit and other special project requests as needed
