Bankruptcy & Consumer Protection Paralegal

We are seeking a highly skilled Offshore Paralegal with a strong background in bankruptcy law to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, supporting our team in complex bankruptcy cases and other legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bankruptcy Case Management:
- Assist in the preparation and filing of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and other related documents.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial documents and provide detailed analyses to support bankruptcy filings.
- Manage and monitor case dockets, ensuring all deadlines are met and necessary actions are taken promptly.
- Draft and review motions, pleadings, and other legal documents relevant to bankruptcy proceedings.
- Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress.
- Legal Research and Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth legal research on bankruptcy laws, regulations, and case law to support attorneys in developing legal strategies.
- Analyze and summarize legal documents, statutes, and court opinions relevant to bankruptcy cases.
- Assist in the preparation of legal memoranda, briefs, and other documents as required.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings, including organizing exhibits, evidence, and other necessary materials.
- Coordinate with other legal professionals, both within and outside the firm, to ensure the smooth progression of cases.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field. A Paralegal Certificate or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a paralegal or attorney, with a strong focus on bankruptcy law.
- Knowledge of U.S. bankruptcy laws
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Technology: Familiarity with case management software (Best Case), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant legal technology tools.
- Prior experience working in a U.S. law firm or with U.S.-based clients.
- Experience with Chapter 7, 11, 13 bankruptcies and complex financial cases.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and remotely.
