The Accounting Supervisor (Property Accountant) is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of multiple property projects under the company’s property management portfolio. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective coordination with on-site property teams.As a roving accountant, the position requires regular movement across assigned properties to monitor financial controls, support operations, and maintain consistent accounting practices.
Accounting & Financial Management- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple property projects (commercial, residential, or mixed-use).
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
- Ensure accurate recording of income, expenses, accruals, and adjustments per project.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, including tenant billings, collections, and aging.
- Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and property-related ledgers.
- Ensure proper handling of security deposits, advances, and tenant-related funds.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual property budgets.
- Track budget variances and provide explanations and recommendations.
- Analyze financial performance of each property and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support forecasting and cash flow planning for managed projects.
- Supervise and guide on-site accounting staff or property admins, if applicable.
- Coordinate closely with Property Managers, Leasing Teams, and Operations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Provide accounting support and training to property teams on policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic site visits to ensure compliance with accounting controls and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain complete and organized financial records for audit and reporting purposes.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to property accounts.
- Implement and monitor internal controls across all assigned projects.
- Prepare management reports and financial summaries for senior management.
- Consolidate financial data across multiple projects for review and decision-making.
- Address accounting issues, discrepancies, and tenant-related financial concerns promptly.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance (CPA is an advantage).Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management, real estate, or construction.
Proven experience handling multiple projects or accounts simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Willingness to travel or be assigned as a roving accountant across properties.
