Project MEP Head

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor, together with the Project Manager, Planning Department, and if applicable, Owner/CM, regarding the Procurement Schedule for MEP-related contract packages.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians, mechanics, technicians, and subcontractors involved in electromechanical installations.
• Ensure that all electromechanical works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, structural, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of electromechanical systems.
• Ensure timely submission of material, equipment, and shop drawings for approval.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety regulations.
• Resolve any technical issues or conflicts that may arise on-site related to electromechanical works.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and provide updates on electromechanical progress.
• Ensure that all materials and equipment used are as per approved specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct quality checks on completed installations and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Identify and report any deviations or non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures on-site related to electromechanical works.
• Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for the electromechanical team.
• Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with relevant local and international codes and standards.Assist in the planning and allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment for electromechanical activities.
• Monitor the utilization of resources to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Report any shortages or requirements for additional resources in a timely manner.
• Ensure that the parameters and procedures for Start‑up and Testing and Commissioning are followed.
• Maintain accurate records of work progress, inspections, test results, and any changes or variations.
• Prepare regular progress reports on electromechanical activities for the Project Manager.
• Assist in the preparation of as‑built drawings and other project documentation related to electromechanical installations.

• Provide clear direction and guidance to the electromechanical team.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Identify training needs and support the development of the electromechanical team.
• Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports (if applicable).

Qualification and Skills Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or any related field.
• Preferably licensed.

• Proven five (5) years of demonstrated experience, particularly in managing an MEP team in all stages of construction.
• Experienced in dealing with MEP contractors.

• Possess a strong understanding of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, grounding, etc.) and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
• Expertise in testing and commissioning.
• Proficiency in reading and analyzing construction plans and drawings.
• Proficiency in MEP‑related software.

• Ability to effectively collaborate and provide clear instructions.
• Ability to effectively manage sensitive situations and confidential information.
• Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
