- 3 to 5 years of experience in a general ledger (GL) accounting role; experience in senior living or real estate is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices, including GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Yardi is an advantage
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis, reporting, and data management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Review and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial metrics
- Maintain and reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
- Ensure proper classification and coding of financial transactions
- Monitor journal entries, adjustments, and account reconciliations
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities and adjusting entries
- Perform variance analyses and investigate financial discrepancies
- Prepare supporting schedules for audits and tax filings
- Conduct performance, cost, and profitability analyses
- Identify process improvement opportunities and operational efficiencies
- Maintain financial models, forecasts, and reporting tools
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions
- Support strategic planning through data-driven financial insights
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls
- Stay informed of regulatory and industry changes affecting financial operations
- Identify financial risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities
