Purchasing Officer
General Description:
Responsible for overseeing the procurement process of goods and services necessary for the organization's operations. This involves coordinating with vendors, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition while adhering to company policies and quality standards.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement:
Ø Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business goals and financial objectives.
Ø Identify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and supplier consolidation.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Ø Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements.
Ø Evaluate supplier performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and addressing any issues promptly.
Procurement Process Oversight:
Ø Supervise the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing and requisitioning to purchase order creation and fulfillment.
Ø Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Budget Management:
Ø Collaborate with finance teams to develop procurement budgets and closely monitor expenditures.
Ø Strive to achieve cost savings without compromising product quality or operational efficiency.
Inventory Control:
Ø Monitor inventory levels, analyzing usage patterns and demand trends to optimize stock levels.
Ø Implement strategies to prevent overstocking or stockouts, minimizing carrying costs.
Market Analysis:
Ø Stay current with industry trends, emerging products, and market dynamics that may impact procurement decisions.
Ø Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and innovative products.
Reporting and Analytics:
Ø Generate and present regular reports detailing procurement performance, cost savings, supplier metrics, and market insights.
Ø Utilize data analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Ø Collaborate with various departments, including operations, culinary, and quality control, to understand their procurement needs and align strategies.
Ø Performs other tasks that may be assigned to him/her
Qualifications:
Ø A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is preferred.
Ø Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, demonstrating expertise in vendor management, negotiation, and contract handling. Previous experience in a similar capacity within the industry or related field is advantageous.
