Muntinlupa - Senior Cloud Operations Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Serve as subject matter expert for operations for at least one public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and support all services.
• Designs Cloud courses and executes teaching these courses throughout the entire organization
• Participate in handling major incidents, investigate and troubleshoot to achieve successful mitigation
• Act as primary point of contact for production issues, troubleshoot and escalate as needed, ensuring resolution
• Drive standardization efforts to streamline tools and processes within the operations team
• Effectively communicate operations status with team and stakeholders
• Establish observability and monitoring based on telemetry data for infrastructure, micro services, product, and platform; implement alerting mechanisms
• Support establishment of FinOps practice, assisting with cloud cost optimization and budgeting to ensure efficiency and scalability.
• Implement nonfunctional requirements focusing on system availability, scalability, performance, monitoring, alerting, and security remediation of infrastructure vulnerabilities
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technology trends, specifically in service reliability engineering, DevOps, and security
• Mentors junior engineers through structured learning and ad hoc setups
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
• Collaborates with Development, QA, TPM, and other stakeholders to ensure top notch deployments
• Helps automate and streamline operations and processes
• Facilitates stakeholder vision execution through effective communication skills
• Individuals must be proactive, self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple project tasks.
• Troubleshoots issues within own area of expertise and supports team in resolving issues
• Operate in an independent work environment, taking initiative and having confidence to tackle complex problems without regular management oversight

Main Requirements:

• At least 7 years experience in Cloud and/or Data Center technology management (should be an expert in at least one of the following: AWS, AZURE, GCP [at least 3 years in that relevant Public Cloud])
• Relevant experience with designing and testing Disater Recovery and high availability solutions
• History of developing scripts to automate infrastructure fulfillment tasks
• Configuration management knowledge
• Strong grasp on at relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Couchbase, Dynamo, Cassandra)
• Experience with architecting and implementing highly available mission critical environments for 24x7 availability
• Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
• Removes toil and implements them via scripting such as Bash, Powershell, Python
• Designs and implements CI/CD tool to streamline deployment processes
• Experience in network protocols and security
• Should have mentored junior engineers through direct reporting; or classroom set up; or ad hoc mentoring

Additional Requirements:

• Certification related to Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP; Kubernetes, is a plus
• Relevant technology management, project management (PMP), or software development certification (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus
