Position Summary:
The QAQC Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of quality within the organization by ensuring products meet or exceed specifications. This position involves monitoring quality metrics, investigating defects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.The role also requires proactive communication and coordination to drive continuous improvement and uphold process standards.
Scope and Responsibilities
Quality Monitoring, Reporting, and Process Improvement:
- Generate and update yield reports daily to track production outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate QC equipment to ensure calibration, functionality, and compliance with operational standards. Conduct regular checks on tools and equipment used by the QAQC team.
- Investigate quality issues by analyzing data, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports based on findings and present them to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee and supervise rework activities for defective products, ensuring all defects are properly corrected in line with the company’s quality standards.
- Conduct audits and inspections of production processes, materials, and systems to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collect and analyze data from production and quality assurance activities to prepare detailed performance and yield reports for management review.
- Provide immediate feedback and recommendations to relevant teams regarding quality concerns and abnormalities found during monitoring or audits.
- Actively review and update work instructions, forms, standards, and quality control documentation to ensure they align with the latest processes and industry best practices.
- Identify trends and suggest improvements to processes and workflows to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Participate in quality meetings to discuss key quality metrics, identify issues, and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with other departments, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to address quality issues and improve overall production efficiency.
- Ensure that preventive actions and corrective measures are properly communicated and followed across all relevant teams to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and report on the status of implementation to ensure timely resolution of quality concerns.
- Ensure all departments are aligned with quality objectives and collaborate to improve process workflows.
- Coordinate with external parties such as suppliers, vendors, or customers as needed to resolve quality-related issues, ensuring effective resolution of any complaints or discrepancies.
- Provide feedback and guidance to cross-functional teams to improve understanding and implementation of quality standards in day-to-day operations.
Safety Compliance, Training, and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations within the QAQC team and across the production floor, regularly reminding and monitoring team members of safety protocols.
- Oversee the adherence to safety standards during quality checks and ensure all QC team members follow proper personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular safety training and awareness sessions for the QC team to keep them updated on safety requirements and best practices.
- Monitor safety audits and inspections of the QAQC team and other departments to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
- Take initiative in conducting revisions and updates to quality-related documents, such as SOPs, work instructions, and forms, ensuring they are accurate and aligned with current processes and safety protocols.
- Review process procedures and provide feedback on how to improve quality, reduce defects, and ensure that safety guidelines are consistently followed.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of all QC equipment, ensuring proper function and accuracy for inspections and tests. Ensure that necessary maintenance actions are promptly addressed and documented.
- Regularly check the status of equipment used by the QC team to ensure they are in good condition, properly calibrated, and functioning as intended.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the QAQC team and ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with special projects or initiatives related to QAQC team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or a related field within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and quality assessments to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record in data collection, analysis, and preparation of detailed quality reports, including yield, defect analysis, and performance metrics.
- Hands-on experience with quality control tools and equipment, including calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of QC instruments.
- Solid understanding and application of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues and improve production processes.
- Prior involvement in cross-functional coordination, working closely with departments such as production, engineering, and maintenance to address and resolve quality concerns.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in a manufacturing environment, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in line with established guidelines.
