What is the job?

The Senior Financial Clearance Specialist is responsible in processing and verifying administrative and financial components of patient financial clearance, including insurance validation, pre-certification, prior authorization, pre-registration, patient benefit verification, and out-of-pocket cost estimates.

Responsibilities:

• Process and verify insurance benefits, pre-certifications, authorizations, and pre-registration.
• Provide financial counseling and generate patient cost estimates, collecting liabilities pre- and at service.
• Handle POS collections, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance, and resolve financial concerns.
• Obtain prior authorizations and communicate schedule changes to ensure compliance with payors.
• Maintain accurate documentation, receipt posting, and meet productivity and collection metrics.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and payors, verifying demographics and resolving referral or authorization issues.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in patient registration in a hospital or physician office, including obtaining patient demographic and financial information.
• Experience handling insurance verification and authorizations.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
