Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including preparing financial statements, handling general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.

This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Record daily financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial books each month and year-end.
  • Account Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in accounts.
  • Perform periodic balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Taxation and Compliance:
  • Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax) in compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Assist in managing tax audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and management reports.
  • Provide accurate financial data for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage accounts payable/receivable reports.
  • Internal Controls & Documentation:
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Maintain proper filing systems for accounting records.
  • Ensure timely response to audit queries and assist external auditors during audits.
  • Cost Management and Analysis:
  • Assist with cost analysis and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Help with budgeting and cost tracking activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in BS Accountancy
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related roles, preferably in a corporate or similar environment.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of local tax laws and regulations.
