Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating the daily maintenance operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of all plant equipment, machinery, facilities, and utilities.
The role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, leads maintenance personnel, minimizes equipment downtime, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions to minimize production downtime.
- Coordinate maintenance work with production and other departments to ensure operational continuity.
- Lead, coach, train, and evaluate maintenance personnel.
- Assign daily work schedules and monitor task completion.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all maintenance personnel comply with company policies and safety procedures.
- Analyze equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring failures.
- Monitor key maintenance performance indicators such as equipment uptime, downtime, MTTR, and MTBF.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and company requirements.
- Prepare maintenance schedules and work orders.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and inspection reports.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities.
- Prepare maintenance reports and recommend equipment replacement or upgrades when necessary.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies.
- Coordinate procurement of maintenance materials and equipment.
- Assist in preparing and controlling the maintenance budget.
- Ensure cost-effective utilization of maintenance resources.
- Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer is an advantage where applicable.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance, equipment reliability, or facilities maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, logistics, or commercial environment.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, motors, controls, and industrial automation.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
