Business Development Manager
Role Purpose
The BD Manager is responsible for developing new customers, new channels, new distributors, and new market opportunities for Emers’ international business.
This role is not only about maintaining existing accounts. The candidate must be proactive, willing to approach new customers, and able to develop business opportunities from zero.
The role will support Emers’ market expansion across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Indo-China, including distributor, wholesale, retail, EC, brand expansion, and cross-border trading opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and approach new customers, distributors, retail groups, EC partners, and wholesale accounts.
- Conduct market mapping for assigned countries or regions.
- Build customer pipeline and follow up business opportunities regularly.
- Prepare business proposals, customer presentations, and market development plans.
- Follow up commercial terms, payment conditions, order potential, and cooperation structure.
- Support new brand market entry projects and new country development.
- Work with Brand Manager, Sales, Merchandise, Logistics, and Finance teams to evaluate business opportunities.
- Support overseas customer meetings, business trips, and market visits.
- Provide local market feedback, competitor information, and customer insights.
- Help establish a stronger customer and distributor network for Emers.
- Strong business development mindset.
- Experience in business development, distributor development, channel development, export sales, wholesale, or B2B sales.
- Good English communication ability.
- Able to actively approach new customers and follow up from first contact to business opportunity.
- Strong commercial sense and customer development ability.
- Willing to travel and open to future overseas assignment.
- For non-local BD roles, practical understanding of import/export business, overseas customer development, payment terms, shipment process, or distributor trading flow is required.
- Able to work independently and manage unclear situations.
- Sports, footwear, apparel, fashion, lifestyle, FMCG, consumer goods, or trading company background.
- Experience in SEA, South Asia, Indo-China, or APAC markets.
- Experience with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, or EC platforms.
- Experience developing business in new or less structured markets.
Working Location / Travel Requirement
Based in Taiwan HQ or assigned overseas market. Frequent business travel may be required. Future overseas assignment may be considered for strong candidates.
Reporting Line
Reports to HQ International Dept. or assigned regional business lead.
