Job Summary
The Seismic Tender Writer will be responsible for preparing and compiling high-quality tender submissions for upcoming projects. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and tendering processes.Reporting to the Seismic Content Lead, the Seismic Tender Writer will work closely with the Precontract tender team, including engineers, estimators, and senior management, to produce comprehensive and competitive tender documents that align with client specifications and industry standards.
The Seismic system will hold standardised high quality written expertise of CPB to support bid submission, you will be tasked to verify and refresh the writing as new projects and experience grows.
Primary Responsibilities
Skills- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and tender management software
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of local (Australia / New Zealand), and international construction standards and regulations is highly desirable.
- Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and interacting with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Analytical thinker with a solution-oriented approach.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Tender Documentation: Write and assemble detailed tender submissions, including technical and commercial proposals, for projects in the construction industry.
- Technical Writing: Produce clear, accurate, and well-structured responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), tenders, and prequalification questionnaires, focusing on design, engineering solutions, and construction methodology.
- Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other key stakeholders to gather technical data, project specifications, and compliance information to ensure all tender documents are complete and accurate.
- Market Research: Conduct research on seismic project requirements, industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and client- specific needs to ensure submissions are tailored to each tender opportunity.
- Quality Control: Ensure the consistency and quality of all tender submissions, meeting deadlines while adhering to the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Cost and Risk Management: Work closely with estimators and the project team to understand cost structures, risk factors, and technical challenges associated with projects, incorporating this information into the tender.
- Compliance: Ensure that all tender submissions comply with relevant seismic and construction regulations, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
- Proposal Strategy: Develop proposal strategies that highlight the company’s strengths in seismic engineering, construction, and project management, positioning the company as a competitive bidder in the marketplace.
- Systems / Software: Seismic Content system – a database for collation of best practice written tender information on the CPB Contractors capability and experience to be used in tender submissions
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, Communications, English or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role or field
- Technical: Strong understanding of engineering principles, design, SHE and construction methodologies. Proven experience in writing tenders, proposals, or technical documents within the construction or engineering sector, with a focus on projects.
