Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee All Accounting Operations: Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with GAAP and cannabis industry-specific regulations.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Deliver insightful financial analyses and actionable recommendations to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with leaders across departments to enhance financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems that support scalability and operational efficiency.
- Executive Reporting: Prepare and present timely, clear, and strategic financial statements and management reports to executive leadership.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and interpret emerging industry regulations and trends, adapting policies proactively to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Technology & Automation: Champion the adoption of advanced financial systems and automation tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and data transparency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- Must have Quickbooks and Xero experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cannabis industry financial regulations
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting at a senior level
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial automation tools
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and evolving industry
- Must be willing to assist with bookkeeping tasks
