Job Description

As a Jr. Data Engineer, you will design and maintain scalable ETL pipelines, manage data warehouses, integrate APIs, ensure data accuracy, and support real-time processing across a Microsoft Fabric environment.

The Qualifications We Seek

Required:

• At least 2 to 3 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field
• Understanding of ETL/SLT concepts and data modeling best practices
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python (especially using notebooks for data manipulation)
• Knowledge of Power BI, especially working with semantic models and DirectQuery
• Experience working with APIs (REST, JSON) for data extraction and integration
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Possess a genuine interest in commercial real estate and investment analysis
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Familiarity with C# (legacy code understanding)
• Exposure to ETL tools like Apache Airflow
• Awareness of real-time data streaming (e.g., Apache Spark)

Your Daily Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines from Reonomy, Rent Manager, StorEDGE, Pipedrive, and Sage
• Clean and integrate data into a centralized Fabric Lakehouse

• Optimize Fabric Lakehouse tables
• Write and optimize high-performance SQL queries
• Perform routine maintenance and tuning within Microsoft Fabric

• Implement scalable data warehouses and data marts
• Develop semantic models for Power BI and Fabric

• Validate, clean, and prepare data for reporting and analysis

• Automate workflows using Apache Airflow, Luigi, or scripts
• Schedule updates for timely data availability

• Manage API data ingestion within Microsoft Fabric Notebooks
• Integrate external data from third-party sources

• Support real-time distributed processing with Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka

• Enforce data governance policies and access controls

• Set up tools for performance and health monitoring
• Troubleshoot pipeline and data quality issues

• Maintain technical documentation
• Build dashboards to track data performance and system health
