Assistant Manager - Makati

The Assistant Manager, Hospital Laboratory Management plays a key role in supporting Medi Linx Laboratory Inc.’s strategic growth through the effective integration of newly acquired clinical laboratories. This role ensures that transformation initiatives are planned, coordinated, and executed in alignment with company objectives—focusing on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the planning and execution of transformation projects aligned with Medi Linx Laboratory Inc.’s strategic objectives.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing laboratory performance, improving patient outcomes, and driving operational excellence.
• Collaborate with the Transformation Manager and Head of Clinical Laboratory Acquisitions in conducting comprehensive gap analyses across clinical, technical, operational, and regulatory domains.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful and timely implementation of acquisition and integration efforts.
• Coordinate with internal departments—HR, Supply Chain, IT, and Facilities—to align processes and ensure acquisition readiness. While managing relationships with hospital laboratory staff, vendors, and service providers during transition phases.
• Support the procurement, testing (including user acceptance testing), and deployment of laboratory instruments and IT systems.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to maintain operational continuity and minimize disruption during transitions.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with national and local healthcare regulations (e.g., DOH, ISO, CAP) throughout transformation and acquisition activities. Lead the preparation, submission, and tracking of regulatory documents and permits before and after acquisitions.
• Work closely with the Quality & Compliance Manager, Clinical Laboratory Operations, Acquisitions Heads, and Chairman Pathologist to align new laboratories with Medi Linx standards.
• Participate in regulatory audits, inspections, and quality assurance programs. Oversee training and ensure regulatory compliance in newly acquired laboratories.
• Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Track and evaluate KPIs such as turnaround time, accuracy, and resource utilization.
• Support change management efforts by guiding and training key personnel and laboratory staff during transitions. Deliver hypercare support and ensure seamless post-acquisition stabilization. Coordinate with teams to resolve transitional issues and monitor performance stabilization.
• Provide direction and support to HLM Officers and laboratory teams, fostering a high-performance and transformation-driven culture.
• Assist in the planning and facilitation of training programs for newly implemented systems and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, licensed Medical Technologist or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in clinical laboratory operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory standards, quality assurance practices, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with project management and/or process improvement methodologies—such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP certification—is preferred. A solid background in regulatory compliance and accreditation standards (e.g., DOH, ISO, CAP) is essential.
• This role requires flexibility to work both in the field and at the company’s Makati-based office.
