Mechanical Engineer Designer (Project Based - 6 Months)

This role requires strong technical expertise, strict adherence to healthcare safety standards, and the ability to collaborate with hospital engineering, facility management, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare mechanical system designs for hospital facilities, including:
• HVAC systems (e.g., isolation rooms, operating theaters, ER ventilation)
• Medical gas piping layouts (oxygen, vacuum, nitrous oxide, etc.)
• Plumbing and drainage for healthcare environments
• Equipment room layouts and mechanical utility requirements
• Produce 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to support renovation, expansion, or new facility builds.
• Conduct mechanical load calculations, equipment sizing, and system capacity assessments.

• Ensure all designs comply with:
• Hospital engineering standards
• DOH, DPWH, and local code requirements (if applicable)
• Infection control and patient safety standards
• Support the hospital in meeting regulatory, accreditation, and safety compliance requirements.

• Collaborate closely with:
• Hospital Facility Management
• Clinical Engineering teams
• Contractors and vendors
• Project Managers and Architects
• Participate in site inspections and coordinate field measurements as needed.
• Provide technical recommendations and troubleshoot issues during installation or commissioning.

• Prepare complete mechanical design packages including:
• Drawings
• Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Technical specifications
• As‑built documentation (as required)
• Present design proposals and updates to hospital stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer (preferred but not required for some projects).
• Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably within hospitals, healthcare facilities, or similar critical environments.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as:
• AutoCAD
• SolidWorks
• Revit (MEP) – advantage
• Strong understanding of:
• HVAC design principles
• Medical gas systems
• Plumbing and fire protection
• Healthcare facility operations
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and medical equipment requirements.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
