Job Description

1. Reports to the Chief Engineer and the Second Engineer;
2. Responsible for the lubrication of all ship’s machinery;
3. Efficient maintenance of the main propulsion engine and its auxiliaries;
4. Maintain all machinery spaces clean and orderly including the quarters of cabins of the engine personnel;
5. Inform the Engine officer on Watch in any circumstances that he deems necessary and other responsibilities required by him in the performance of his duties;
6. In-charge of the cleanliness of his/her workplace before and after working;
7. Perform other functions when requested and authorized;
8. Faithfully comply with and observe the terms and conditions of this appointment. Violation of which shall be subject to disciplinary action;
9. Familiarize and abide the stipulations in the Safety Management Manual of M/V Cab-ilan;
10. Abide by the Rules and Regulations of Water Ups Multi-Purpose Cooperative and the Code of Ethics for Employees

1. Must be a graduate in Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering
2. at least 1 year experience as Oiler
3. Must have a Certificate of Completion on Rating Form Part of Engineering Watch;
4. Must have a Certificate of Completion on Crowd and Crisis Management;
5. Must have a Certificate of Completion on Personal Survival Techniques;
6. Must have a Certificate of Completion on Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting;
7. Must have a Certificate of Completion on Elementary First Aid;
8. Must have a Certificate of Completion on Personal Safety and Social Responsibility;
9. Must have a Seaman’s Identification Record Book;
10. Must have an exceptional customer service skill;
11. Must not be directly or indirectly connected in any business similar to that handled by the cooperative;
12. Must not or have not been convicted of any administrative or criminal case involving moral turpitude, gross negligence or grave misconduct on the performance of his/her duties;
13. Must not be facing any administrative or civil/criminal suits involving financial and/or property accountabilities; and
14. Must be willing to undergo pre-service and/or in-service trainings.
