Construction Estimator (US Construction Firm, WFH)
Schedule: 12:30AM to 8:30AM Manila Time
What are we looking for?
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in construction estimating
- Public works construction experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, bid documents, and addenda
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, sequencing, and trade scopes
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Experience reviewing subcontractor proposals and identifying scope gaps or exclusions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and cloud-based document management
- Experience with estimating software such as Procore, BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Review project plans, specifications, bid documents, addenda, and contract requirements
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general construction scopes
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project requirements
- Solicit subcontractor and vendor proposals for public works construction projects
- Review subcontractor bids for scope coverage, exclusions, pricing accuracy, and completeness
- Compare subcontractor proposals and help determine best-value selections
- Identify missing scopes, constructability concerns, conflicts, and bid risks
- Organize bid information using Excel, Google Sheets, and company estimating systems
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout the bidding process
- Assist in preparing bid proposals, bid forms, and supporting submission documents
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and estimate updates as needed
- Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoff meetings with the operations team
- Follow company estimating procedures, quality standards, and bid deadlines
