Job Summary:
The Accounting Officer role is essential for ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations. This position involves a range of tasks, including reviewing invoices, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and assisting in audits and intercompany reconciliations and analysis.

The Accounting Officer will also play a crucial role in conducting due diligence for payment requests, ensuring the legality and legitimacy of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and verify payments against invoices and other supporting documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with different business units to obtain the necessary documents related to payment requests and ensure smooth information flow
  • Conduct due diligence to verify the legitimacy and legality of customer applications and payment requests. This involves research on companies, including checking their online presence and validating business records through bank records and other reliable sources.
  • Review daily cash flow statements and distribute the corresponding financial reports to different departments to ensure tracking of cash movement.
  • Perform internal audit checks and assist with conducting spot checks on financial records and transactions
  • Participate in inter-companies account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects and carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Finance or any related business course with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Highly proficient in using office productivity tools (MS Excel/Word/Outlook, Chinese input)
  • Aptitude for logical and analytical thinking; capable of thinking “outside the box” and providing innovative solutions while strictly adhering to company policies and standards
  • Demonstrated ownership of tasks and responsibilities; can work independently and proactively (self-starter) and meet deadlines
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management and negotiations; able to manage expectations of superiors and teammates and work effectively in a team environment
  • Positive work attitude (can-do mindset) and able to deliver under pressure; can stay focused and organized despite competing demands
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin. Cantonese fluency is a plus but not required.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Philippines if currently based overseas
  • Priority will be given to those who are immediately available to start working
