Job Description – Junior Structural Engineer

Reports To: Senior Structural Engineer / Design Manager

Position Summary

The Junior Structural Engineer assists in the analysis, design, detailing, and documentation of structural projects. The role supports senior engineers in producing safe, code-compliant, and cost-efficient structural designs while ensuring timely completion of engineering deliverables.

• Assist in the structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation systems.
• Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and engineering documents.
• Develop structural drawings and coordinate with CAD Engineers for drafting requirements.
• Perform structural checks and review design drawings for accuracy and constructability.
• Conduct site inspections, structural assessments, and prepare engineering reports when required.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and project teams.
• Assist in preparing design revisions, value engineering proposals, and technical recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with NSCP, ACI, AISC, ASTM, and other applicable engineering standards.
• Support permit documentation and respond to technical comments from clients and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain organized engineering files, calculations, and project documentation.
• Participate in continuous learning and technical development to improve engineering competency.
• Perform other engineering-related duties assigned by management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer (Preferred; fresh board passers are welcome).
• 0–2 years of structural engineering experience.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
• Familiar with NSCP and other relevant engineering codes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with structural software is an advantage (STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD; experience with Tekla or Revit is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willing to conduct site visits and inspections when required.

• Submit assigned engineering designs within approved deadlines.
• Maintain high accuracy in structural calculations and design outputs.
• Produce complete and code-compliant engineering documents.
• Minimize design revisions caused by engineering errors.
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams and external consultants.
• Respond promptly to technical concerns and client comments.
• Maintain organized and updated engineering documentation.
• Participate in continuous professional development and technical training.
• Support project delivery while maintaining quality, safety, and engineering standards.
