Software Development Engineer for Automation
Octal Philippines Inc. is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer for Automation to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient automation frameworks and tools. The successful candidate will focus on software development practices to build and enhance test automation infrastructure that supports continuous integration and delivery.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA and DevOps, contributing expertise in backend or full-stack development to upgrade existing test automation frameworks. A passion for software engineering best practices and a drive to innovate automation processes are essential.
This position is ideal for someone with strong programming skills eager to apply their knowledge to the automation domain, even if they have limited prior automation testing experience.
Requirements
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration platforms (Kubernetes), or cloud infrastructure is a plus.
- Exposure to eCommerce or large-scale systems is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn automation testing concepts and tools; prior automation experience not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
