Electrical Designer (Onsite)

Job Description:

• Participate in the Design Engineering Team to ensure the timely and accurate design of innovative, cost effective, compliant engineering solutions and integrated designs and estimates for assigned overhead, underground and communications projects, ensuring safety and quality outcomes with high levels of satisfaction to customers.
• Participate in and support in a Specialist Team providing lines design engineering consultancy services, ensuring co-ordination of multidisciplinary design production, liaison with key stakeholders including impacted landowners, statutory authorities, government departments, industry partners, suppliers, customers, and council groups to meet project design and estimate completion objectives.
• Assist in mentoring and training of other design team members in all aspects of design, including participating in the quality - audits / assessments of designs generated internally and by the wider Distribution Design Team.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering specifications inclusive of assessment of tenders for Design, Construction, materials and specialist consultancy services.
• Provide technical advice to enable accurate project scope definition, approval estimates and balanced customer outcomes through collaboration with stakeholders during the project planning and concept phase.
• Manage personal safety, safety in design and own professional development.

• Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any related field.
• Drafting/CAD experience and Electrical/Telecommunications pathway background.
• Familiarity with NBN design, pit & pipe design, certificates of supply and general drafting and markups.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
