What is your mission?
We are looking for a Billing Operations Manager to own and lead U.S. group health premium billing operations with full accountability for billing accuracy, carrier reconciliation, and team performance. This role focuses on end‑to‑end premium billing cycle ownership, carrier remittance and aged receivables management, process governance and audit readiness, and hands‑on leadership of billing teams, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and strong operational controls across multiple insurance products.
You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:
- Own the end‑to‑end premium billing cycle, including invoice generation, premium collection, carrier remittance, and variance resolution
- Manage billing for fully insured and self‑funded U.S. group health plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Apply deep knowledge of composite and age‑banded rating structures to validate invoice calculations
- Manage retroactive adjustments, mid‑month additions and terminations, and coverage effective date logic
- Reconcile carrier statements against internal billing records and resolve discrepancies
- Manage and reduce aged accounts receivable across multiple employer groups
- Oversee carrier termination timelines and mitigate risks related to missed or delayed payments
- Manage carrier remittance schedules across medical, dental, vision, life, and disability products
- Lead and supervise a premium billing or billing operations team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Train, coach, and hold team members accountable to operational standards and service levels
- Monitor and manage operational KPIs including aging, reconciliation turnaround time, and error rates
- Create, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures for billing workflows
- Ensure audit‑ready documentation, internal controls, and operational governance
- Identify process gaps and implement process improvements and automation initiatives
- Work within eligibility, billing, and carrier platforms, as well as CRM and workflow tools
- Communicate directly with U.S.‑based leadership, providing clear status updates, risk reporting, and escalations
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing premium billing or billing operations teams
- Direct hands‑on U.S. group health premium billing experience, with proven ownership of invoice generation, premium collection, carrier remittance, and reconciliation
- Experience managing aged receivables across multiple employer groups and insurance products
- Demonstrated ownership of end‑to‑end premium billing cycles as an operational authority, not solely a processor
- Deep knowledge of fully insured versus self‑funded plans, composite versus age‑banded rating, retro adjustments, and coverage effective date rules
- Strong experience reconciling carrier statements against internal billing records and resolving variances
- Experience managing multi‑product remittances, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability
- Background working within U.S. General Agencies, Third‑Party Administrators, carriers, or benefits administration environments
- Experience with eligibility and billing platforms such as Plexis, Employee Navigator, BenefitPoint, or similar systems
- Understanding of ANSI X12 834 EDI transactions and enrollment‑to‑billing data flows
- Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks is an advantage
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with comfort engaging U.S.‑based stakeholders and executives
- Highly detail‑oriented, process‑driven, and accountable, with confidence operating in compliance‑heavy environments
Company Perks:
- Above-industry salary package and incentives
- Comprehensive HMO benefits and life insurance from day 1
- Free learning and development courses for your personal and career growth
- Dynamic company events
- Opportunities for promotion
- Free meals and snacks
