Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Librarian who will manage and develop the school library as a dynamic learning resource center. The ideal candidate will support students and teachers in accessing information, promoting reading, and integrating research skills into the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily library operations, including circulation, cataloging, and inventory
- Organize and maintain library collections (books, digital resources, multimedia materials)
- Assist students and teachers in locating and utilizing library resources
- Promote reading programs, literacy activities, and research skills development
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures
- Maintain an updated and organized cataloging system (manual or digital)
- Collaborate with teachers to support instructional and research needs
- Ensure proper care, preservation, and acquisition of library materials
- Prepare reports and documentation related to library usage and resources
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS) (required)
- Licensed Librarian (preferred but not required)
- Preferably with experience in a school or academic library setting
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and library management software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to guide students in research and information literacy
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and digital resources
