Job Summary:
The Kitchen Helper assists the kitchen team in preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen. The role supports chefs and cooks by performing basic food preparation tasks and keeping all work areas organized, safe, and sanitary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure the kitchen and equipment are clean, sanitized, and well-organized at all times.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking tools following proper sanitation standards
- Receive, unpack, and store food supplies properly.
- Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas, storage rooms, and garbage stations.
- Assist chefs and cooks during meal preparation and service as needed.
- Follow safety and hygiene procedures to prevent contamination or hazards.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
- At least a High School or Vocational graduate.
- Experience in a kitchen or food service operation is an advantage.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen safety is preferred.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
- Reliable, hardworking, and a team player.
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
