Job Description
Posted on 3 June 2025- Fleet Operations Management: Oversee the fleet of delivery trucks, vans, and other vehicles used in the warehouse distribution network. Ensure vehicles are utilized efficiently for deliveries and pickups.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Develop and implement a regular maintenance schedule for all vehicles. Coordinate vehicle inspections, repairs, and ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
- Fleet Safety Compliance: Ensure that all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards, including local, state, and federal laws. Ensure all vehicles are properly insured and licensed for operation.
- Cost Management: Monitor and manage fleet-related expenses, including fuel, repairs, insurance, and vehicle procurement. Develop strategies for cost reduction while maintaining high service standards.
- Driver Supervision & Training: Supervise and manage drivers, ensuring they follow safety protocols, maintain proper logs, and comply with company policies. Provide training and coaching on safe driving practices and operational procedures.
- Inventory Coordination: Work closely with warehouse teams to synchronize the fleet operations with inventory management. Ensure proper loading, unloading, and transport of goods to and from the warehouse.
- Fleet Software Management: Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle performance, fuel usage, maintenance schedules, and driver logs. Analyze data to improve operational efficiency.
- Problem Resolution: Address any fleet-related issues, such as vehicle breakdowns, delays, or accidents, and coordinate timely resolutions to minimize disruptions to the distribution process.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, fuel usage, and vehicle downtime. Identify trends and suggest improvements.
- Experience as a Transportation Manager or similar role in warehouse or distribution operations
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and commercial vehicle regulations (especially trucks)
- Experience managing delivery or transport fleets in logistics/warehouse settings
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and improve operational efficiency
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
