In-House Tax Accountant (Multi-Entity Operations)

About the Role
Aldesa BPO is a multi-entity organization with operations and tax obligations spanning the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, China, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, and additional VAT jurisdictions.
We are hiring a full-time, in-house Tax Accountant based in the Philippines to take ownership of the complete tax compliance lifecycle across all of our entities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working across borders, modernizing processes with AI, and turning complex tax data into clean, on-time filings.
You will be responsible for preparing and filing returns on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, analyzing prior-period returns for accuracy, and recommending amendments where appropriate.
Because our finance function is committed to working smarter, we expect you to actively use AI tools to streamline preparation, research, and review.
IN-HOUSE TAX ACCOUNTANT (MULTI-ENTITY OPERATIONS)
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Filings- Prepare and file Value-Added Tax (VAT) returns across applicable jurisdictions.
- Prepare and file US state and local sales tax returns across all required states.
- Reconcile sales and VAT data to the general ledger and resolve variances.
- Prepare and file federal and multi-state payroll tax returns (e.g., 941, state withholding, SUI).
- Prepare and file quarterly sales tax returns where required.
- Prepare and file state franchise tax returns on applicable quarterly cycles.
- Compile and review quarterly tax provision data for management reporting.
- Prepare K-1s for partners and members across all pass-through entities.
- Prepare annual state franchise tax filings and annual reports.
- Prepare and issue 1099s and W-2s, including reconciliation to payroll and AP records.
- Coordinate annual federal, state, provincial, and foreign corporate income tax filings for all entities.
- Support year-end close with tax accruals, true-ups, and supporting workpapers.
- US federal and all-states tax compliance (income, sales/use, payroll, franchise, annual reports).
- Canadian federal and provincial tax compliance, including GST/HST/PST and corporate filings.
- Mexican tax compliance, including IVA and corporate income tax obligations.
- Philippines tax compliance, including BIR filings, VAT/percentage tax, withholding tax, and corporate income tax.
- Hong Kong tax compliance, including profits tax and employer's returns.
- India tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and corporate income tax filings.
- China tax compliance, including VAT, corporate income tax, and individual income tax obligations.
- Vietnam tax compliance, including VAT, corporate income tax, and foreign contractor tax where applicable.
- United Kingdom VAT compliance, including HMRC filings and Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
- Germany VAT (Umsatzsteuer) filings and EC Sales List / Intrastat reporting where applicable.
- France VAT (TVA) filings and related EU reporting where applicable.
- Nigeria VAT filings and other applicable FIRS indirect tax obligations.
- South Africa VAT filings with SARS and related indirect tax obligations.
- Egypt VAT filings and related indirect tax obligations with the ETA.
- VAT compliance in all other applicable jurisdictions.
- Review historical returns across all entities and jurisdictions for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify exposures, refund opportunities, and filing gaps; recommend and prepare amended returns where appropriate.
- Document positions, methodologies, and supporting workpapers to audit-ready standards.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, and tax-specific copilots) to accelerate research, return preparation, reconciliation, and review.
- Build and continuously improve AI-assisted workflows for recurring filings, data extraction, and quality checks.
- Maintain strong human oversight: validate AI outputs against source data and authoritative guidance before filing.
- Potentially serve as the personal tax accountant for senior executives, including preparation of individual returns and year-round planning support.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and clear separation between corporate and personal engagements.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Philippines) or equivalent professional certification.
- 5+ years of progressive tax accounting experience, including multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction work.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with US multi-state tax compliance (sales/use, payroll, franchise, and income).
- Working knowledge of Canadian tax (GST/HST/PST, federal and provincial corporate tax).
- Working knowledge of Mexican tax (IVA and corporate income tax).
- Working knowledge of Philippines tax (BIR filings, VAT/percentage tax, withholding, corporate income tax).
- Working knowledge of one or more APAC jurisdictions: Hong Kong (profits tax), India (GST/TDS/corporate income tax), China (VAT and corporate income tax), and Vietnam (VAT and corporate income tax).
- Working knowledge of one or more EMEA VAT regimes: United Kingdom (HMRC, MTD), Germany (USt), France (TVA), Nigeria (FIRS), South Africa (SARS), and Egypt (ETA).
- Solid command of VAT principles and compliance workflows.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to manage recurring deadlines independently.
- Prior experience preparing K-1s, 1099s, and W-2s at scale.
- Experience analyzing prior-period returns and preparing amended filings.
- Active use of AI tools in a finance or tax workflow.
- Experience supporting high-net-worth individuals or executive personal tax matters.
- Exposure to APAC tax compliance (Philippines, Hong Kong, India, China, and/or Vietnam) is a strong plus.
- Exposure to EMEA VAT compliance (UK, Germany, France, Nigeria, South Africa, and/or Egypt) is a strong plus.
- Full-time, in-house role based in the Philippines.
- Working hours include sufficient overlap with US business hours to coordinate with the finance team and external advisors.
