PURPOSE: to ensure that all stores and doors are manned with qualified Merchandisers and retain them by giving appropriate guidance and administrative support.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Team Management: Supervise a team of merchandisers. Manage their day to day attendance and discipline, need for administrative support such as letters, notices and reports, and monitor their daily operational tasks
  2. Recruitment: Ensure that all vacancies are filled with qualified candidates, with basic 5 requirements. They should also accompany Merchandisers during Intro and make sure that when a Merchandiser is hired, they have Employment Contracts.
  1. Intro to Stores should take 7 working days. If it exceeds 7 working days, the Coordinators should escalate to HR Department. If there are challenges even in the first three days, they have to be escalated to HR Department, which in turn is responsible to inform the Management Team
  1. Deployment: Ensure that all doors are manned, no absences and no vacancies. All absences should be pre-approved. Day offs should be planned and ensure that schedules of merchandisers are well planned and arranged.
  1. Reports on Deployment should be sent by the Operations Manager to the Management Team on a daily basis
  1. Delivery: If a merchandiser is unavailable due to absences, and a Strategic Store Specialist cannot accommodate a delivery, the Coordinator shall be the one to receive.
  2. Timekeeping and Schedule Maintenance: Submit the attendance records of the merchandisers to HR every payroll cut off. This includes Payroll Topsheet and Summary of DTRs.
  3. Inventory Management: Remind merchandisers to conduct inventory and submit inventory forms to TSRs.
  4. Discipline: Report disciplinary issues to HR through Incident Reports and ensure that due process is done.
  5. Visual Merchandising: Work closely with the marketing and store operations teams to ensure effective product displays and merchandising strategies in retail stores. This involves planning and implementing visual merchandising guidelines, arranging product placements, and monitoring visual standards.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various internal teams such as marketing, sales, operations, and supply chain to ensure effective coordination and alignment of merchandising strategies. This includes attending meetings, providing input on product launches, and coordinating activities with relevant stakeholders.
  7. Training and Support: Provide training and support to retail teams on product knowledge and basic merchandising orientation training.
  8. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to merchandising activities. This includes maintaining product databases, tracking sales performance, preparing reports, and documenting merchandising processes and guidelines, as agreed with stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years leadership experience in merchandising experience within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail stores merchandising dynamics
  • Willing to do field work
