We are currently seeking a meticulous and dedicated Central Sterile Supply Technician (CSS Technician) to join our dynamic surgical support team.

Job Description

As a CSS Technician, you will play a critical role in patient safety by ensuring that all medical equipment, surgical instruments, and medical devices are properly decontaminated, sterilized, and prepared for clinical use. You will operate specialized sterilization equipment and maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontamination & Cleaning: Disassemble, clean, disinfect, and decontaminate surgical instruments and medical equipment utilizing manual and automated methods (e.g., ultrasonic cleaners, washer-disinfectors).
  • Inspection & Assembly: Inspect instruments for cleanliness, defects, and proper functionality. Assemble surgical instrument trays and sets according to established checklists and guidelines.
  • Sterilization: Load, operate, and monitor various sterilization equipment, ensuring all parameters (time, temperature, pressure) are met.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform and document routine biological and chemical indicator tests to verify sterilizer efficacy. Maintain accurate logs and sterilization records.
  • Inventory & Distribution: Manage stock levels of sterile supplies, monitor expiration dates, and efficiently distribute sterile items to the Operating Room (OR) and other hospital departments.
  • Compliance: Adhere strictly to hospital policies, Department of Health (DOH) regulations, and international infection control standards.
Job Qualifications
  • Education: College Graduate of any course, OR completed at least 2 years of college-level credits (allied health fields or vocational courses in sterile processing are a plus).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a CSSD/CSS Technician in a hospital or ambulatory surgical setting is highly preferred.
  • Certification: Must possess a valid CSSD Certification.
  • Skills:
  • Strong familiarity with surgical instrumentation and sterilization methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good physical stamina (ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy instrument trays).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
