Overview:
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance with occupational health standards. This role involves monitoring site activities, conducting safety inspections, and implementing programs that protect employees, clients, and company assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with DOLE and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections of project sites.
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox meetings, and training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective action plans.
- Coordinate with management and project teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Ensure proper documentation and submission of safety reports to regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Must hold valid BOSH (Basic Occupational Safety and Health) and COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) certificates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, particularly in construction and engineering environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to enforce compliance and promote safety awareness.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
