Pre-Construction Estimator (US Client/Nighshift)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Construction Estimator & Takeoff Specialist to support project bidding activities through accurate quantity takeoffs, plan interpretation, and cost analysis. This role requires strong technical knowledge, construction document expertise, and the ability to collaborate with international project teams.

• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings.
• Review and interpret complex construction documents, including plans, specifications, addenda, and bid instructions.
• Support bid teams by preparing detailed quantity estimates and organized scope breakdowns.
• Analyze construction assemblies, material classifications, and unit pricing methodologies across multiple trade disciplines.
• Assist in bid preparation, leveling, and proposal development within required turnaround timelines.
• Apply production rate analysis and crew-based cost modeling to support competitive estimates.
• Manage bid alternates and assist senior estimators in evaluating project requirements.
• Utilize digital takeoff and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in collaborative plan reviews and bid discussions using digital collaboration platforms.
• Adapt to new estimating technologies, including AI-assisted takeoff tools, as introduced.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling high-volume estimating tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in technical English with the ability to interpret U.S. construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and construction estimating activities.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, assemblies, and estimating methodologies.
• Experience supporting bid preparation and proposal development.
• Knowledge of digital collaboration platforms and online project coordination tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong computer literacy and internet navigation skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.

• Experience with digital takeoff and estimating software.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted estimating technologies.
• Experience supporting commercial, infrastructure, or utility construction projects.
• Experience collaborating with international estimating or construction teams.
• Ability to participate in virtual plan reviews and bid coordination sessions.
