1. Develop content for dissemination via social media, websites, and other distribution channels.
2. Ensure that key messages align with vital business strategies.
3. Serve as the organization’s media liaison and formal spokesperson.
4. Develop creative and engaging social media strategies
5. Manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels.
6. Create engaging multimedia content (and/or outsource this effectively) across multiple platforms
7. Develop, launch and manage new competitions and campaigns that promote your organization and brand
8. Form key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms
9. Undertake audience research
10. Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
11. Monitor, track, analyze and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights
12. Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
13. Analyze competitor activity
14. Recommend improvements to increase performance
15. Set targets to increase brand awareness and increase customer engagement
16. Manage, motivate and coach junior staff such as social media executives or assistants
17. Manage a budget for social media activities
18. Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within your company (in-house roles)
19. Encourage collaboration across teams and departments
20. Regularly liaise with clients via telephone, email, conference calls or face-to-face (agency roles).
